Health authorities in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) say they have stopped Ebola fighting operations in the region of eastern Benin, as violence has delayed efforts to curb the worst outbreak of the disease in its national history.
Minister of Health Oly Ilunga Kalenga announced the move on Saturday, the day after the collision, there were a couple "a few meters away" from the local emergency center and multi-response team hotels in Ben, North Kivu Province.
United Nations Mission Statement (MONUSCO) peacekeepers disarmed the Allied Democrats (ADF) militia ciie in the northern Boikene area on Friday.
The attack killed seven Malāvis and one Tanzanian peacekeeper.

Oly Ilunga said "all areas of activity were stopped and the emergency operations center remains closed," adding that Ebola's health workers have stayed at their hotels.
Also on Saturday, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that 16 workers were temporarily evacuated from her after the shell got into the building in which they stayed.
Michel Yao, WHO coordinator for Ebola response operations in Beni, told AFP news agency that nobody was hurt, adding that it is not known whether the shell is from an ADF or MONUSCO force.
Oly Ilunga condemned the violence and said the outbreak "is still dangerous, especially Ben."
The latest outbreak of the Ebola, the country's 10th, has resulted in 166 confirmed and 47 possible deaths, mainly from the rich in supplements to the provinces of North Kivu and Ituri, which have been inter-ethnic and militia violence over the decades.

The worst outbreak
According to WHO data, 358 confirmed and possible cases have been reported in the country.
This figure exceeds 318 cases documented in 1976, when the virus was first identified in Yambuk region Equateur.
"The other epidemic in the world has not been as complicated as the one we are experiencing now" Oly Ilunga said last week, adding that teams responding to an outbreak have been attacked on average three or four times a week on an unprecedented level of violence compared to nine previous outbreaks in the country.
"Since the arrival in the region, response teams have faced threats, physical attacks, the re-destruction and abduction of equipment," Oly Ilunga.
On Saturday, a ceremony was held for peacekeepers who were killed last night's assault.
157 other peacekeepers were killed in an ADF attack on MONUSCO base in Ben in December 2017.
An armed group was set up in neighboring Uganda in the 1990s. Forced from Uganda, it operates in the DRC North Kivu Provincial Frontier.
Beni ADF is a brutal reputation. It has been blamed for hundreds of civilian deaths in the last three years, as well as mass rape and recruitment of child soldiers.
