The new report estimates that almost half of all adults in the United States have some cardiovascular disease, a medical turn that is mostly due to the latest guidelines that extended the number of people with high blood pressure.
The American Heart Association says that in 2016, more than 121 million adults had cardiovascular disease. Except for those with high blood pressure, 24 million or 9% of adults have other types of illness, such as heart failure or clogged arteries.
