Warning in the Argentine prison about a hantavirus

February 1, 2019, 14:56Buenos Aires, February 1 (Prensa Latina) A prisoner who has intensively cared for a hantavirus, a disease transmitted by rodents, is retained by the prison authorities in Magdalena, in the province of Buenos Aires.

As reported by TN, a prisoner, about 40 years old, was taken to the San Juan de Dios hospital in La Plata, where he already had some improvements.

The Prison Administration doubled fumigation and cleaning, while the Memory Commission (CPM) considered that "prisoners carry barricades against rats".

These detainees are looking for ways to prevent the mouse from entering the cells, said the Commission, who warned that he had already taken a week to take measures to prevent the spread of infection in the presence of rodents in Buenos Aires.

There are already nine cases of hantavirus in the province of Buenos Aires, which, since the end of December, has retained a state alert after recording an outbreak in Epuyén, Chubut, Patagonia.
