Diosdado Cabello, President of the National Assembly, held US responsibility on Friday when something happened to Venezuelan interim president Juan Guaido.
"If something happens to Guaidó, the American Embassy is responsible for its security, those who have security," said Polello at a political ceremony in Monaghan.
Two weeks ago, Guaidó was sworn in as a temporary president, after Parliament felt that Nicolás Maduro's second term was illegal.
Guaidó has received recognition from a number of countries, while the United States has asked Maduro to give up power and allow the proposed transition to Parliament, then call for free elections.
