MOBILE, Ala – 18-year-old Navy recruiter from Alabama has died in a boat camp in Illinois.
Press Secretary Joseph Welsh Pfaff said Kelse Nobles, a mobile person, died on Tuesday after the collapse of training at the Great Lake of the Navy Recruit Training Center in Illinois.
Noble's father, Harold, told WKRG-TV that doctors said she came to a heart stop. He says that after the physical fitness check he disappeared. He says he was taken to a civilian hospital where she was pronounced.
Nobles describes her daughter as a young woman who was "the sweetest soul" and "was the greatest heart".
Pfaff says Navy is investigating. This is the second death in similar conditions in the boot camp in recent months.
