On November 1, 2018, USS John P. Murtha restored the trial version of the Orion capsule during the sunset in the Pacific.

The Recovery Test-7 (URT-7) initiated is one of several tests that the Exploration Ground Systems Recovery Team, together with the US Navy, is undertaking to validate the procedures and equipment to be used to recover Orion's spacecraft after its deep-sea spray research missions.

Orion will be able to maintain crew during flight, will ensure a safe return from deep cosmic return speed and emergency cessation.
