Finally here is Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar's new open-world western game is now available on both the PS4 and Xbox One, and it offers players with a large, deep open world to explore. The only major story will take you up to 50 hours to complete, and this is before getting a lot of its side content – and everything will follow Red Dead Online in November, the online multiplayer online game component.
To help you make the most of your experience, we've compiled a number of guides and tips to address both specific aspects of the game and the broader things you need to know before you begin. Rockstar has chosen not to hold hands with many game features, leaving it to you to either discover or hide them in the menus. We will also look at some of these examples to make sure you are aware of everything the game can offer.
We have a lot of other guides and tips and we will continue to update the list with all of them. While you're waiting to play in your hands, be sure to check out our RDR 2 report.
Riddles

One potentially great aspect of the new game is cheat codes. Like GTA V before it, RDR 2 lets you use puzzles and even the entire menu is available for this feature. However, at this early stage, we do not really know who all are; at least some are cleverly hidden in gaming newspapers. We will do our best to find out and report them because they are open – you can see those we have been able to confirm in our list of all Red Dead 2 cores. In the meantime, we have also got information on the best RDR2 dummies that are worth a try.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the third game in the Red Dead series, although it is closely related to its direct predecessor. However, RDR 2 is a prequel that occurs a year before the first RDR events. If you played the previous game, you will recognize the names and faces of many of its characters, including the RDR protagonist John Marston. We immerse ourselves in meeting RDR first, but no matter what choice you make, you must give our Red Dead Redemption story to refresh the memory – or fill the holes for the first time.
Tips to know before you start
As with any game, it may be useful to start with specific knowledge in hand. This certainly applies to RDR 2, which is a solid game with different systems interacting with each other. With that in mind, we've created a list of the main tips you need to know before you first launch the game. We have reduced spoilers, but you want, for example, to realize that side tasks can end if you do not get them fast enough.
