Four nights of starfights seem to be too much for the broader audience, as SmackDown Live, which ended the 2019 Royal Rumble weekend, rated ratings down against last week's episode.
Forecasts were high peaks on Tuesday evening after Raw at night. 2019 Women's Royal Rumble winner Becky Lynch unexpectedly showed that she would be a challenge to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania, and is expected to benefit from SD Live.
This week, SmackDown averaged 2 137 000 viewers, down from 2 142 000 viewers who saw last week's show – setting the ninth place for the blue brand on night cable TV, and about 15 percent compared to 2018.
SmackDown retained 79% of the Raw audience from the previous night, which is lower than usual. It is also worth noting that many other networks have shown repetitive work, which usually shows that real-time WWE show ratings are increasing.
Here's what ratings have been reviewed by SmackDown Live in 2019:
- 01/01/19: 2,091,000
- 08/01/19: 2,032,000
- 15/01/19: 2,143,000
- 22/01/19: 2,142,000
- 29/01/19: 2,137,000
