The German car manufacturer Volkswagen and the US Ford Motor have announced that they will work with light commercial vehicles.

Ford and VW will explore commercial co-operation as well as the ability to jointly develop electric vehicles and automated driving technologies. Thus, companies are trying to save billions of dollars.
Reuters believes that both companies announced their cooperation at the Detroit Auto Show.
Cooperation to cover the sale of trucks and hoists will begin in 2022. Companies do not participate in each other's capital or merger.
Ford manager Jim Hackett said that in a matter of weeks, he will explain how cooperation will affect Ford's operations around the world, noting that the Ford plant will not be rejected for collaboration.
According to VW, Ford will develop and produce medium-sized trucks for both companies. Ford will also plan and produce trucks for the European market. Volkswagen will develop and produce city vans.
VW said commercial vans could be manufactured at the Ford Otosan factory.
Companies expect their cooperation in commercial vehicle production to begin to see positive returns in the pre-tax profit in 2023 on the balance sheet.
The two companies also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop electric and autonomous vehicles.
Oloj trading war and new technologies
Due to the commercial friction between the US and Europe and China, car manufacturers are forced to rebuild vehicles that produce factories.
In addition, the slowdown signals from two of the world's largest economies in China and the US encourage companies to cut costs. In this context, the cooperation between VW and Ford was announced.
Global automakers are under increasing pressure because they are developing new generation electrical and autonomous vehicle technologies on the one hand, and on the other hand they are trying to ensure that their fuel engines comply with increasingly stringent emission regulations.
