Dust from the asteroid Ruygu will soon be in the hands of lucky scientists at the Japanese space agency Jaxa.

They can thank the spacecraft Hayabusa-2 for a job well done.

– Six years and it has finally returned to Earth, the commentator said live about the descent into the Australian desert on Sunday evening Japanese time.

The asteroid is about 30 million miles from us. The probe collected both dust and materials from the bottom surface – a total of 0.1 grams.

Researchers hope that invaluable samples will reveal the origins of life and how the universe was formed.
