Michael C Hall has argued that he is "not the whole way of heterosexual".
Dexter's actor is married three times, only to women, but he admits he is "in the spectrum" when it comes to his sexuality.
The 47-year-old told The Daily Beast: "I'm heterosexual. But if there was any percentage, I would say that I'm not the whole way of being heterosexual.
"I'm thinking of playing Emcee [in Cabaret] asks for me to open a bunch of open doors, because I imagined this character as a dowry. Yes, just like I attended the show every night with Michael Stuhlbarg. I think I have always turned to any of my sexuality. "
However, Hall added that he had never had a close relationship with a man and said: "I think I was attracted by John Cameron Mitchell when I saw Hedwig. But no, I'm usually heterosexual."
The star married Morgan MacGregor's wife in 2016 after four dating years.
He previously married actress Amy Spanger from 2002 to 2006, and his co-author, Dean Thompson Jennifer Carpenter – yes, a female nurse – from 2008 to 2010.

Throughout his career, Michael has played several gay or queer writers, most of which are David Fisher, six feet below, and Hedwig Hedvig and Angry Inch.
And while he thinks that straight people can play LGBTQ + characters, he said: "When I was six feet under me, I became aware that I am a heterosexual person who plays a role of gay, which was unique in the television landscape.
"I also realized that, given how things are going and maybe it's still so much that many gay actors play a role. It submits them in some way. This irony was not lost to me."
