Epediatrician Zoran Radovanovich says that despite the fact that the morbid epidemic for this winter will not be massive, so that anyone who should be vaccinated is obliged!

According to Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut, the Public Health Institute, MMR vaccination in Serbia in 2017 was 85.2 percent and revaccination was 91.6. In the second year of life, the number of children vaccinated in the first six months of 2018 was 52.9%, an increase of 18.3% over the same period last year, when it was only 34.6%.
– The solution to the problem is vaccination, and we should not consider the number of patients in the previous period, but we need to focus on their eradication. And we can not do this only if 95 percent of pre-school children are vaccinated! The epidemic is always moving around because the rest of the population is already protected by incomplete immunization or the disease has already been experienced. The epidemic's development site is precisely because some parents still refuse to vaccinate their children. Of course, the volume of immunization is now much higher than last year during the same period, but it is still insufficient to take care of the danger. However, the fact that the number of immunized vaccines is increasing day by day is encouraging, and therefore this optimism that the number of patients suffering this year will be much lower than last year – says Radovanovich.

And infectious scientist Žarko Rankovičs says that the number of vaccinated children means that the number of patients will be lower.
– The fact is that more and more parents vaccinate their children, and therefore we hope that the epidemic will be less than last year. And we also hope that they will not be dead from this disease, as it was during the last 12 months – he says.
