The bottom of the monument was previously covered with translucent canvas, and the number of municipal police members was increased nearby. The social networks commented that this was the result of a ceremony in Paris where Serbian President Aleksander Vucic did not have a place to remind us of the role of our country in the First World War and the millions of victims it presented.
The Kalemegdan monument was created on November 11, 1930, by signing friendship, mutual assistance and cooperation between Serbia and France during the First World War. The Bronze Monument, rebuilt on August 6 this year, features a woman's sculpture with a sword symbolizing France fighting for Serbia.
