Online policy – Obese children who are at risk of getting diabetes mellitus

In Serbia, almost every fifth child is overweight, eight percent are obese, and the number of obese children and diabetics is increasing each year. The right choice of food, the consumption of fruits and vegetables and regular physical activity are key factors in preventing obesity and its consequences, such as diabetes, the findings of the "Prevention for Healthy Adults" team in Belgrade to celebrate the World Diabetes Day.

Prof. Vesna Dimitrijevich Srechkovich, an endocrinologist at the Serbian Clinical Center, highlighted abdominal obesity, which is a major metabolic and metabolic syndrome that increases the risk of diabetes and other diseases. His research confirmed the presence of metabolic syndrome in 37% of obese children and young people, while the remaining 63% had excessive metabolic syndrome or just an enlarged waist and another risk factor, the most commonly low HDL cholesterol.

Every other person does not know that he has diabetes

World diabetes day is celebrated today around the world with the slogan "Diabetes affects the family". More than 425 million people are living with this disease, and most people with type 2 diabetes are diagnosed. Any other person with this diagnosis does not know that it is sick. According to Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut, the Public Health Institute in Serbia, diabetes is the fifth leading cause of mortality and the fifth major cause of illness and it is estimated that around 710,000 adult Serbian people are suffering from this monster. Nearly one third of patients diagnosed with diabetes already have one or more of the late complications of this disease.
It should be noted that the disease in 2017 was the cause of health care costs of at least 727 billion dollars, which is more than the US and China's military budget together. Every 11 adults or 425 million people are diagnosed with diabetes, and the number of people with diabetes is expected to reach 522 million by 2030. This illness was the cause of four million deaths two years ago.

The incidence of metabolic syndrome increased statistically significantly by age: in adolescents with obesity 7 to 15 years it was 34.8%, in adolescents from 16 to 20 years it was 38.9%, and young people aged 20-30 years old were 58.1%, but The code from adults is registered 38 percent.

Abdominal obesity is responsible for juvenile depression, as fatty cytokines affect the degradation of tryptophan, which is responsible for the development of happiness hormone, and instead produces products that cause many disorders and depression. Time response and prevention is extremely important. These are healthy Mediterranean diets and physical activities, which include at least an hour for a quick walk. When we lose weight, we reduce stomach obesity and we have a beneficial effect on regulation of fat, blood pressure and sugar, thus preventing or preventing premetabolic or metabolic syndrome, "said Dr. Dimitrijevic Srechkovic, who, more than 10 years ago, had a meal for a healthy family. to prevent obesity, diabetes, high fat content, blood pressure and vascular complications.

The fact that children in the 21st century are likely to move more than a few decades ago, according to prof. Dr. Vladimir Koprivica, everyone should be encouraged to start and take important steps to increase physical activity from the baby. It is also important to develop individual approaches to physical activity.

– The movement is natural for humans, and it plays an important role throughout life. With many activities in the family, at schools, in teaching schools and at sports organizations, the public should allow young people to be professionally trained, "explained Professor Koprivica.

Bojana Markovic of the "Blue Ribbon" Association for Diabetes indicated that support is important, but it is also constantly said that the disease, the way children and parents live with them, as well as prevention.

– With support they are easier to accept and overcome the routine tasks that diabetes carries with you. Our association has consistent support with appropriate patient education, expert lectures, collaboration with experienced psychologists and patient experience sharing, which means a lot, "added Markovic.

When diagnosing a child with diabetes, treatment is a complex process, starting with insulin therapy, with proper nutrition, physical activity and psychological support. However, Dr Veroslava Stankovič from the Belgrade School of Higher Education places high priority on prevention.

– Statistics show that a large number of children in Serbia are obese. Therefore, children from early childhood need to learn the proper nutrition and role of certain groups of food, as well as the harmfulness of fast food and sweets. Children should be taught that breakfast is a mandatory meal that other meals should not be omitted and that it is imperative to take one fruit from a meal. The right choice of food, physical activity and physical activity are the main factors that prevent obesity and its consequences, "Dr. Stankovich added.

In this case, it was emphasized that the project Maxi School Caravan, attended by 100 schools in Serbia and comprising 15,000 champions, has shown that, as explained by Milica Popovic, how many children play with the game can explain why it is important to eat vegetables and so you are healthy.
