Airbus: A330-800 completes the first flight

The first A330-800 this morning was from Blagnac, Toulouse, France, at noon. 10:31 local time, on the first flight to southwest France. The MSN1888 will conduct Certification Flight Checks.

The A330-800 Certification Program includes a roughly 300 hour flight test, thus providing certification opportunities in 2019.

His brother, the largest member of the A330-900 family, recently completed his development and certification testing program that approved engines, systems, cabin aircraft and aerodrome operations.

The two NEO versions, the A330-800 and the A330-900, will include 257 and 287 passengers respectively in the three-seat seating configuration. They are powered by the latest generation of Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines.

The A330 is one of the most popular large aircraft families, with more than 1,700 orders received by 120 customers. Over 1400 A330s fly over 120 operators around the world.
