Study: Zinc Protects Against Aging

According to a recent study by researchers at the Erlingen-Nirnberg University, when zinc is added to chocolate, tea and coffee, it limits the process of "oxidative stress" associated with aging and low life expectancy.

Oxidative stress is defined as an increase in the number of oxidative substances in the cell, leading to several aging-related diseases, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and arteriosclerosis, as well as degenerative neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease. Researchers have discovered that zinc can activate organic molecules in the human body that help prevent oxidative stress when taken with natural ingredients in coffee, tea and chocolate.
