DAVAO CITY – The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the Department of Education (DepEd) have developed a five-year sports development plan to start cooperation in strengthening the state's mass sports program.
The framework for the plan was completed after two strategic planning days, in which nearly 60 officials from two government agencies attended.
The plan focused on local sports, agency management and management, human resource capacity building, infrastructure and equipment, collaboration and linkages both locally and internationally, as well as research and development.
PSC chairman Butch Ramirez and Assistant Secretary DepEdd Revsee Escobedo highlighted the importance of these topics to ensure that young people have a physical education and sport program and more effective management with competent managers in both agencies, training programs for coaches and trainers, and standardized sports facilities. .
"It will not be smooth and fast, but in addressing these areas, we will have a clearer direction in our national sports development program," said Ramirez.
Ramirez added that the program not only focuses on strengthening the national talent identification program but also helps to improve the education of sports between trainers and trainers nationwide.
