47 million euros for royal jewelery collection

The collection was inspired by the 18th century pearl with pearls and diamonds owned by Marie Antoinette, the wife of King Louis XVI of France.

Before that, the value was estimated at 1 to 2 million Swiss francs, but the pearl went under a hammer of 36.4 million Swiss francs. It is almost 32 million euros.

French Revolution

After Mari Antoinette was destroyed by guillotines during the French Revolution, the gems were passed down from generation to generation in the Bourbon-Parma home.
