From 19 to 20 January 2019, the 3rd edition of Fari Foni Waati will be held in Bamako. Information was provided yesterday at a press conference in the Blonba Cultural Complex. This edition will include dancers from eight countries in the region.
Fari Foni Waati, regarded as an art laboratory, is a festival that lets you broadcast original works during the dance. The Initiative believes that the initiative is an artistic appearance, promoting dialogue, exchange and a factory between international artists.
"Fari Foni Waati Festival is working to better integrate modern dance in the art of living in Mali by participating in the dynamics of cultural networks and developing distribution," explained Fari's artistic director Naomi Fall Foni Waati.
Since the first edition in January 2017, Fari Foni Waati has become Bamako's cultural landscape as an important dance event. This year, three international choreographers were invited to work with African dancers. And South Africa choreographer and performer, Nigerian choreographer Qudus Onikeku and Moroccan choreographer Taoufiq Izeddiou.
This third edition will include dancers from eight countries in the region. Two days exhibitions will be presented in the neighborhood of Blonba and indoors. According to Naomi Fall, the festival will offer a program designed by Fari Foni Wati, featuring invited choreographers and performances by companies or groups from Bamako and other countries.
Dance Walk will also be from Blonba National Art Institute. This dance is performed during a walk. The estimated budget for this third edition is FF 75 million.
