The agreement will facilitate the establishment of direct contacts and cooperation between the cultural institutions of the two countries and cooperation in all cultural and artistic fields as well as in the audiovisual sector. The treaty provides for cultural exchanges and participation in diverse cultural activities, including international cultural events held in both countries.
The agreement provides for cooperation between archives, museums, libraries and cultural heritage protection institutions of both countries.
So far, the cooperation of representatives of the Latvian cultural sector with Argentina has been quite episodic – Argentinean directors have collaborated with the theater festival Homo Novus makers (Mariano Pensotti in 2007), Latvian National Opera and Ballet, performed ballet monophonic (choreographer Maurisio Vainrots in 2009), individual groups and performers have participated in music and ballet festivals in Latvia. Latvian artist Kaspars Lielgalvis has participated in the exhibition in Argentina in 2008.
