The best figure skater in Latvia, Denis Vasilyev, on Saturday in the Japanese city of Hiroshima, finished the Grand Prix in the eighth place, according to organizers.
On Friday, Vassiliyev rated judges 72.39 points in the short program, while on Saturday he won 125.21 points in the qualifying program, which totaled 197.60 points. Such a performance is quite modest by a Swiss specialist, Stefan Lambiel, and he ranked only in the eighth place in the competition.
The winner of Japan's "Grand Prix" was Homa Shoma Uno with 276.45 points.
