The Egyptian government is intensifying its contacts with the Israeli government and the Palestinians, urging both sides to stop the escalation of violence in the Gaza strip, reports Egyptian state television, referring to government sources.

Sources explained that the Israeli government emphasized Cairo that it is necessary to commit itself to the de-escalation process, adding that efforts are also being made to reach a consensus on the Palestinian side.

The Al-Ahram newspaper, referring also to the closest sources of the Egyptian government, said that Cairo had informed the Israeli government that the parties "should (recently) stop" on the basis of the progress made.

Israeli destroyed airplanes, helicopters, unmanned aerial vehicles and tanks struck over 70 Hamas and Islamic Jihad organizations on Monday, including Hamas al-Aqa. At least three Palestinians were killed in raids and strikes on Monday.

The Israeli army announced that the raids were mocked by the release of more than 300 rockets and munitions from southern Israel, causing the deaths of nine Israelis, one of which is in critical condition.

The new outbreak of violence took place one day after the start of the business from the Israeli special forces in the Gaza Strip, during which seven Palestinians were killed, including the local chief executive officer of the Hamas Armed Forces and five other members of the Ezentin al-Qassam Brigade, as well as an Israeli Lieutenant-Colonel.

This was the second member of the Israeli armed forces, who since the end of March lost his life in this area. The enclave has killed at least 231 Palestinians, mostly protesters, and has since been severely blocked for more than a decade.
