We give Sisay Gessesse -The Ethiopian government has arrested 36 people accused of hiding in a prison camp and crimes against humanity and 27 accused of robbing the nation's wealth.

"Over the past five months, we have been collecting testimonies from people involved in crimes against humanity in different parts of the country," said Prosecutor General Berhan Tsegaye, who said that there are still people lying in the country and abroad. .

According to Berhan, who for the first time informed journalists in his office, crimes involving the use of gangs, unregistered imprisonments, punishments in unregistered prisons, using prohibited methods of torture, delaying exposure to sunlight during prolonged exposure to heat, were committed between crimes committed against humanity and killing prisoners.

He noted that there were seven unregistered prisoners in Addis Ababa, where crimes were committed, but similar crimes were committed in other parts of the country, mainly with intelligence people.

He noted that for the purpose of this respect, it was foreseen that suspected prisoners acknowledged that they had committed crimes and forced politicians to leave their jobs.

For many years, international human rights groups such as Human Rights Watch have reported crimes against humanity in different parts of the country that the regime has been denying.

Regarding the attempted murder of Prime Minister Abia, the Attorney General has indicated that it was organized by the former head of state of the intelligence, but not by the institution.

Currently, those throwing a ball are imprisoned for direct involvement. The Attorney General says they investigated those who were behind the attack and completed the investigation that led to the intelligence head of the former state.

The former head of the National Intelligence Agency, which was not commissioned by the Attorney General, indicates by name that "everyone knows who was the former head of intelligence".

Getachew Assefa, who lost his position after Prime Minister Abiy took power, was the former head of intelligence in Ethiopia, whose face the public did not yet know.

Mr Getachew is currently in Mekelle and he was recently appointed to the Tigray Regional Security Division and a member of the Tigray Liberation Front (TPLF) Central Committee.

Answering the question of whether it would be difficult to arrest a former intelligence leader and now the Tigris region security chief, Prosecutor General Berhanu said: "Do not confront a regional security chief, even if he is a president or a leader, he is no higher than the law … We are all under the law "

According to the Attorney General, these crimes alleged to be internationally forensic criminal offenses under the international law signed by Ethiopia are currently under negotiation by the government with different countries to be concealed abroad.

TPLF has been the strongest ruling coalition (Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front – EPRDF), since the former rebel group took power in May 1991 to form the current collective.

But after the arrival of Prime Minister Abby, a member of the Oromo Democratic Party – one of the four ruling coalition parties – the dominance and influence of the TPRF has diminished within the EPRDF.

The Attorney General also pointed out that, in addition to the 27 former military officers, their business partners and intermediaries who may have been involved in illegal financing outside the country in breach of their duties and responsibilities, and mistakenly leading a military company, the Metal Engineering Technology Corporation (METEC).

He pointed out that in the seven-year period from 2010/2011, By the year 2016/17 For the year, military generals and officers responsible for METEC and their affiliated companies have made purchases of more than $ 2 billion, often with an inflatable / exaggerated price for purchased products and services up to 400%.

It is noted that most purchases were made from China and Malaysia through their brokers who have blood links with military generals and commanders. As a result, accused officials and their allies have stopped a huge amount of money abroad, including assets such as companies. They are also offended at purchasing similar businesses without proper bidding, which runs counter to government regulations and procedures.

Regarding METEC's local dealings, the Attorney General has also stated that these multi-billion dollar dealings were also made with METEC's family members and their relatives as well as people who have direct business relations with them.

METEC has been involved in mega projects ranging from the production and maintenance of military equipment to the construction of the Ethiopian multi-level dollar dykes in Nile and several sugar factories.

Among the crimes, Military Officers in charge of METEC also include the purchase and use of two ships without the Ethiopian flag and the illegal conduct of business between Mogadishu and Iran. They are also accused of buying elderly people from Israel, of which 5 people have been rescued, from which the government does not know where they are.

According to the Prosecutor General, in order to arrest the remaining people involved in crimes against humanity and peoples, the government will reveal suspicions of security in order to give public support and perceive them.
