Original name: US Space Agency selects 9 companies involved in shipment shipment
NASA announced on April 29 that it has selected nine US companies to submit offers for the Moon Surface Procurement Services, most of which are newly created companies, in Washington, DC, on November 29 (Reporter Zhou Zhou). This will be the study of the future US astronaut on the moon and even on Mars.
The project, called the Business Lunar Load Service, will provide total contracts of $ 2.6 billion over the next 10 years. Selected companies will offer several services, including load integration and operations, payloads and month. NASA is hoping to launch the Moon Surface Science Deliberate Delivery Mission next year.
NASA director Jim Bradenstein said it was "a real progress in the United States that returns to the Moon's surface and stays on the moon." The Business Meter Load Service project first sends relatively small, cheap shipments to the Moon, and then performs the most traditional tasks, from medium to high load, to send the Moon.
Among the nine selected companies, the only known is the Lockheed Martin giant of the United States and other companies are Draper, Deep Space Systems, Space Robotics, Firefly Space, Intuition Machines, Masten Space Systems and Moon Transports on the track.
Bridenštin said that most of the bidding companies did not perform complex space missions on this scale, but for these companies participation in this project is similar to venture capital with high risks but high returns.
The two largest commercial areas in the United States, Space Exploration Technologies and Blue Origin have not been included in the bidding list. NASA said it would periodically turn to allow multiple companies to participate in the "commercial Moon Load Capacity".
In September of this year, NASA announced plans to leave the moon again by 2030. To achieve this, the US Space Agency plans to gradually launch and compile the "deep space portal" into the orbit of the moon as a "transfer station" for them to land.
