Sylvester Stallone said goodbye to Rocky with a video

Using Instagram Sylvester Stallone he announced his retirement as Rocky Balboa, a role that has earned him three Oscars nominations, including one for the best script and who will be playing lately Creed 2.

"I just want to thank everyone that, in the last 40 years, the Rocky family has the heart. I have the greatest privilege to create and interpret this important character," he explained in a video description. "Although it spoils my heart, unfortunately everything is happening … and ending. I love you all kind and generous people, and most beautiful thing, Rocky will never die when he lives with you," he added.

In the video, Stallone said that Creed 2 "is probably my last rodeo" and explained that initially he thought the Rocky story had ended with the 2006 film. However, he stressed that he was given the opportunity to change the story, Go to the new generation and face new challenges.

"I could not be happier, because even though I step down, no matter how my story has been told, there is a brand new world open to the audience and this generation," he said.

He also thanked the actor Michael B. Jordan, who plays Adonis Creed, and emphasized that he will now be responsible for continuing the story of the most popular and symbolic boxing film saga.
