(CNN) – Massive drug overdose at home in Chico, California, killed one person and sent over a dozen hospitals, police said.
Chico Police Chief Michael O & # 39; Brien said that the main substance is considered to be fentanyl, the drug that most often causes overdose, according to a recent US government report.
Overdose was reported to the authorities at 10:00. This Saturday morning KHSL-TV, a CNN affiliate, was reported.

Jesse Alexander, chief of Chico's fire department, told the station that it was the biggest accident he had seen in years. He described that at the same time he had seen six people living in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The police chief said agents were taking CPR and six doses of naloxone – treatment for opioid overdose used as a nasal spray or injection. Block or cancel opiate exposure.
O Brien said that researchers believe that overdose was caused by ingestion of another fentanyl and other substance that has not yet been identified. One person was pronounced death and 12 adults were hospitalized.
Two officers who responded to the scene also went to the hospital after saying that they felt that medicines similar to fentanyl were reported by KHSL-TV. Both officers were treated and released.
The house is considered to be a place of dangerous materials, and the investigation continues, Brien said.

The police chief said the situation would have been worse if the local rescuers had no naloxone, which they began to take with them since last year.
He said this is not the first time that treatment has saved life in Chico.
