In the 11 years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we've had three films each for Captain America, Iron Man and Thor, as well as four Avengers movies.
That is a lot of movies – viewer fatigue could've been very real.
To be Iron Man 3 and Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw writer Drew Pearce thinks he knows what the secret sauce is to prevent us all from getting bored.

Speaking to Collider in a video interview, Pearce said: “What I think is so enjoyable about [the MCU] is somewhere through the process, […] Kevin saw what the whole rest of some other movie makers are catching up on which is – delivering the old sequel mindset was 'Give them the same again, but more'.
'' And I think Kevin realized at a certain point that giving the audience the same thing was a diminishing return, both creatively and on a business level, and that's when he started to go: 'What if he did the same character but we put it in a different genre? '
"And your mileage may vary on how different the movies are from each other but I love the fact they approach each movie as if it's a movie from a different genre, and I think that's an absolute genius."
