Mitchell Marner took help John Tavares"target Wednesday with some of Toronto Maple Leafs Assistant Device Manager Bobby Hastings.
After Marner's thunder broke out, Hastings quickly provided him with a new instrument he used to set up Tavares's goal late in the first phase of Toronto winning against San Jose sharks on Wednesday.
"I tried to play it, for example, it was not broken, but [Hastings] knew right away, "said Marner. I have to ask him what his favorite drink is. It will soon come to him, I'm sure. "
Marner's gap was broken when he blocked the Sharks defender Brent Burns, but he sped the bench and grabbed a new one from Hastings, then quickly joined the rush with Tavares and Zach Hyman. Hyman moved to the right wing of Marner who found Tavares to reach the goal, his second game and the 17th season, making it 3-1.
"Everyone encourages," said Tavares. "Contributions every day [from] Anyone who is part of this organization is nice to see that it comes out in a game. "
It was the last of three Marner's assistants in Toronto's 5-2 win, which increased his season to a total of 30. Marner just trails the Colorado Avalanche ahead of Mikko Rantanen, who has 32 assists in the NHL lead.
