In this picture, many beautifully rotating clouds in the Jupiter Dynamic North Coast soft belt are taken from the NASA Juno spacecraft. Several bright white "poppy" clouds appear on the stage, as well as an anticikonical storm, known as a white oval. (NASA image)
(NASA) – Jupiter's dynamic North-North Temperatures belt contains many beautiful, cluttered clouds captured in this picture from the NASA Juno spacecraft. Several bright white "poppy" clouds appear on the stage, as well as an anticikonical storm, known as a white oval.
This color enhancement image was taken at. 13:58. PDT on October 29, 2018 (at 16:58 EDT), when the spacecraft carried its 16th flight with Jupiter.
At that time, Juno was about 4,400 miles (7,000 kilometers) from the peaks of the planet, about 40 degrees north latitude.
Researcher Gerald Eichstädt and Seán Doran created this image using data from the JunoCam imager.
