ESPN is falling for the false LeBron James Instagram item on Anthony Davis' commercial rumors at the NBA

Although the trade rumors continue to swirl around Anthony Davis, NBA fans have enjoyed jokes about the whole situation. One social media user in particular created a false Instagram comment left by Lakers star LeBron James on Davis latest news.

The false comment sounds, in part: "cya laker oops, which was a mistake I mean cya later".

A false comment sounds like a LeBron social media item.

It has all the right features:

  • Inclusion of the word "sheesh"
  • Tempting joke
  • Abundance of emoticons
  • Dumb

So, of course, the ESPN manufacturer thought it was real and posted "SportsCenter". Anchor Neil Everett read it as if it were really from James.

"Look at what we found in Insta-face: LeBron James giving thumbs to Anthony Davis's wardrobe, and at the same time James basically gave the middle finger to the NBA," Everets said.

Later ESPN admitted that the post was counterfeit by Everett, saying it was "a child with too much time on his hands".
