With one of the widest incomprehensible problems with Android, there is not enough speed on which devices the latest version of the operating system is provided. Initiatives like Project Treble look to solve this problem by removing the vendor from the operating system layer, but it will take some time before Project Treble is supported everywhere. LG seems to be trying to prevent the usual slow release of software by announcing that the LG G7 One will be the first LG device to receive Android for the update.
Android Pie, but a repeat update, rather than viewing many new features or OS modifications, creates some significant improvements, such as adaptive batteries, adaptive brightness, slice API and gesture navigation. Motorola One Power and Xiaomi Mi A2 have already received Android Pie and we have seen that Samsung and Huawei will launch Beta software. LG has been suspiciously silent when it comes to Android Pie and even released the LG V40 ThinQ with Android Oreo just two months after the latest version of the Android was available. While LG's wider plans are still a mystery, LG has released the LG G7 One update.
LG G7 One Android 9 Upgrade
The LG G7 One is the company's first smartphone running Android One and will now be the first LG device to launch Android Pie. XDA Senior Member ChrisAG first saw its forum and 812 MB updated LG G7 One in Canada and introduced Android 9 Pie and the latest security patches in November.
It's not surprising that the Android One device purchased an update for the first time since the software is as close as possible to Android Vanilla. Therefore, it seems that the dependencies and internal checks that are required to adopt Android Pie are extremely minimal. Unlike the security updates that are guaranteed on a monthly basis with Android One, there is no timetable commitment to get the latest Android device. However, it would appear that LG has decided to immerse its fingers in the Android Under Arena first with the LG G7 One. Does this mean that we will begin to see LG's plan to release Android with its other devices, is still visible, but it will undoubtedly be linked to the new version of the LG UX software layer, which it includes Android.
LG G7 One: Specifications, Features
As mentioned before, this is the first Android One Smartphone from LG, which was featured in the 2018 IFA. The phone has a 6.1-inch QHD + display, similar to that available on the ThinQ G7. The device has a complicated bezel, a length of 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, and a notch, as we have been expecting from the OEM in 2018.
The inside of the phone is equipped with last year's Snapdragon 835 processor, which comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. There is a microSD slot for storage expansion. The phone has a single rear camera with 16MP resolution and is connected to the front of the 8MP sensor.
All this comes with a 3000mAh battery, supported by Quick Charge 3.0. Like the G7 ThinQ, it also has 32-bit Quad DAC and DTS: X support. The display is HDR10 compatible and the phone has an IP68 and MIL-STD 810G rating with the fingerprint sensor on the back.
