Their production will continue to operate in the country

The electric vehicle market will become more and more interesting. The German giant Volkswagen (VW) plans to compete with Teslade with cheap electric cars that it will produce in Germany to save jobs in the country.

Three of the Volkswagen plants will be reoriented to produce electric cars up to 20,000 euros, Reuters reports, referring to sources that are familiar with the company's plans. The news is not officially approved by the German manufacturer.

VW and other carmakers are trying to adapt to the strict rules introduced since the discovery of the falsification of diesel engine tests for the content of harmful substances in their emissions. VW CEO Herbert Dice recently warned that the production of German cars is coming to the fore.

Following the UN call for decisive action to accelerate global warming, EU legislators agreed to reduce car emissions by 20% by 2030. According to Dice, in order to achieve this goal, VW has to increase the share of electric cars by up to 30%.

VW plans related to the launch of the MEB and I.D. Aero, will be discussed at the company's supervisory board later this month. Currently, the car maker does not have a formal commentary on what appeared in the media.
