Sofia. Professor Rossens Vasiļevs, Rector of the Technical University of Varna, is a plagiarist in the preparation of scientific works. It announced the newly established Academic Ethics Commission for Education and Science. This is the first decision of the Commission, with which Professor Vassilev loses his doctoral degree. After about a week, he will lose his academic position as a "professor." Professor Rossena Vassileva's plagiarism reports a year ago, but only with the changes in the academic staff law, a five-member academic academic commission was created, according to which he translated some of the data and tables in the 2009 book by authors from Belfast University, Ireland. According to the commission, the professor has rewrote the doctoral study papers. Their colleagues sent a signal to the professor rather than to the doctoral students, according to which it is not a plagiarized but a collective work.
Education and Science Minister Krassimir Valchev said that the rector of Varna Technical University will be released and a new official will be appointed. He explained that the teacher's career decisions are also subject to judicial review, and the rector can appeal and prove to the court that he is not a plagiarist. "But he could not prove it to a committee of experts and authoritative scholars. They said they were plagiarized. I rely on their knowledge," said Minister Valceev.
He pointed out that the Academic Ethics Commission is currently working on three more similar signals, but they are not so high. "The Commission is constantly active, it will work, and I can assure you that it will respond to every signal," said the minister.
According to him, there is a problem with plagiarism in all countries, not only in Bulgaria. "Last year it was said that this is a problem, because it destroys academic ethics and academic values," said Vulchev. He explained that not all problems of plagiarism were passed through the newly established Academic Ethics Commission, as some of them were considered at the university level. Currently, we are working on the same plagiarism Velko Tarnovo High School of Military, not the Rector, but the Minister refused to provide any prior information.
Varna Technical University issued an opinion on the matter, stating that a massive campaign was launched to kidnap prof. Rossena Vasiļeva and violated the Commission's legislative procedure.
