Atikul Islam won the Mayor of Dhaka North City

Awami League Atiqul Islam won a huge reserve in the Dhaka North City Corporation mayor's election. He has won all 1295 centers. He has won over 7 lakes with his closest competitor, Jatiya Party Shafin Ahmed.

Return Officer Abul Kasem announced the results at Bangabandhu International Conference Center on Thursday evening. Dhaka is north with 1,255 centers. Awami League candidate Atiqul Islam won 8 lakes with 39,000 302 votes in these centers. His closest rival, Jatiya, Shafin Ahmed, won 52 thousand 429 votes.

After the results, 31.5 percent of the votes were cast.

Among other candidates, the Progressive Democratic Party (PBP), Shahin Khan, received 8560 votes, National People's Party (AES) Anisur Rahman Dewan won 8, 695 votes and Independent candidate Abdur Rahim won 14,440 votes.

The Return Officer will officially announce the results at the International Conference Center on Friday at 10am.
