The popular Australian organic milk brand is reminiscent of potentially fatal microbiological contamination.
The Organic Milk Group (OMG), which is sold at Australia's largest retail supermarket, has ordered an urgent withdrawal of 1 liter of OMG Organic Milk by the best date of February 4, 2019 for E. coli contamination.
"Please note that due to the low microbiological contamination of the OMG Organic milk, which is the best before February 4, we take care to withdraw the consumer from this product," the brand said.
"Please return to any milk you may have with this best date to the point of purchase for full refund."
The product is available for sale at Woolworths, IGA, Salamanca Fresh, Hill Street Grocer and independent food retailers in Tasmania.
E. coli is a potentially lethal bacterial infection that can cause health complications including vomiting, nausea, fever and diarrhea.
