Intel has released new Windows graphics drivers, the so-called Windows 10 Modern Drivers, or Intel Modern Drivers, and they are not the same as the old leaders with whom we are accustomed, but they are a new type of universal driver for Windows UWD.
The Universal Drivers they allow developers to create a single driver package that runs on multiple different types of devices, whether they are laptops, tablets, or desktops.
This new generation of leaders will replace the current ones and they are Optimized for Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019, and are compatible with Fall Creator Update and other later versions of Windows 10 only for 64-bit versions of the operating system.
Improved performance and support for more gaming
Some of these new UWD features include things like Automatically updates game setup function, reduced RAM consumption with OpenGL, improved battery life with DRRS monitors that support it, improves Vulkan driver stability and a new button to re-scan and detect new installed games without having to restart.
The Initial support includes 14 video games(Artifact, Farming Simulator 2019, Fallout 4, Far Cry 5, FIFA 18, Paladin, Departure path, The Sims 4, SMITE, Borderlands 2, Euro Truck Simulator 2, PUBG, Rocket League, The Witcher 3) with more paths
The installation package is a bit more than 320 MB, and that's enough download and install the executable file the official website also has a list of Intel products for which the download is valid.
It is important for you to know that UWD they are not contradictory with old drivers which will now be labeled as "Legacy", so if you later want to go back to the old drivers, the Windows 10 Configuration Panel must uninstall Modern Drivers.
