Researching bacon and smoke from diet could reduce cancer by 40%, the study says

ROCKFORD, IL (WTVO) – A new study shows that avoiding bacon and alcohol can reduce the risk of cancer by up to 40%.

A study by the World Cancer Research Fund, which took data from 51 million people, found that even the smallest amount of processed meat and milk increased the risk of developing some types of cancer according to the evening standard.

According to the study, obesity is threatening to smoke for more than decades as "the first cancer risk factor".

Evidence suggests that overweight is at least 12 causes of cancer.

The analysis involved obesity with the liver, ovary, prostate, stomach, mouth and throat, added to the intestine, breast, gallbladder, kidney, esophagus, pancreas and uterus.

The conclusions of the report will be presented at the European Congress on Obesity in Vienna, Austria.

Recommendations will be made to encourage people to "drink mostly water and unsweetened drinks" and to limit or eliminate the consumption of processed foods, including fast food, as well as fat, starch and sugars.
