AIDSfree Cities Global Forum LIVE: Politicians and Medical Expert Meeting to Work Without AIDS in the Future



Politicians and medical experts from all over the world are meeting today in London to develop plans to combat HIV without creating AIDS.

The AIDSfree Cities Global Forum, located in Conduit, Mayfair, is the climax of the evening standard, the Independent and Elton John AIDS Fund.

It will focus on the UN's 90-90-90 goals, which are aimed at informing at least 90 percent of people with HIV about their status, receiving 90 percent of their treatment, and 90% of the virus.

Health Secretary Matt Hancock and International Development Secretary Pens Mordaunts and delegates who include citizens' leaders from six major cities focusing on AIDS free appeals – Kiev, Delhi, Atlanta, Maputo, Nairobi and London.

Money from public donations through AIDSfree appeal will be used to support Elton John AIDS Foundation projects in six major cities around the world (London, Nairobi, Atlanta, Kiev, Delhi and Maputo). With the help of the UK help, the UK government will double its public donations to £ 2 million spent on the Maputo and Nairobi projects.
